Vilner 2011 Land Rover Defender

A couple weeks ago we introduced you to the Project Kahn Vesuvius Edition Sport 300, a Range Rover Sport that had undergone Kahn’s love it or hate it touch. Today, we have another custom that could fall into the same love/hate category: the Vilner Land Rover Defender. Vilner, a Bulgarian aftermarket accessory and appearance design house, has taken a pair of 2011 Defenders and transformed them into luxury vehicles to fulfill a private order placed by a Russian businessman.

From the outside, the Defenders look like pretty standard fare with the exception of the wide street tires and side steps. Exterior modifications include the addition of xenon headlamps and a few bolt-on accessories such as a snorkel, brush guard, and the aforementioned side steps. Most of the heavy lifting was done inside the Defender in a bid to bring some luxury to the ruggedness.

The interior of each Defender was completely reworked from the floorboards up. Before the finishing work, the interiors were upgraded with sound and heat proofing to provide a comfortable and quiet environment for the passengers. Additionally, almost every surface inside the Defender is swathed in stitched orange-brown leather with black leather accents. The instrumentation has been tinted to match, showing a great attention to detail. A 600W entertainment system was also installed and features two LCD screens, including a 15-inch drop-down screen for rear passengers.

Since this was a private order, there has been no word on what the conversion cost. We’re guessing the loose change stuck in the couch cushions wouldn’t cover it, though.
