2011 Land Rover LR4

The 2011 Land Rover LR4 has been awarded a first place finish in Strategic Vision Inc.’s (SVI) Total Quality Index® (TQI). The LR4 took top honors in the near-luxury SUV category, while the Jaguar XJ received the highest score (929 points) in the luxury car segment.

“For Jaguar and Land Rover to rank as leaders in Total Quality is validation that we offer an exemplary entire ownership experience, from the vehicles’ quality and performance, to the buying and ownership experience,” said Andy Goss, President, Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC. “This recognition highlights the enormous passion and pride our employees, dealers and customers have for Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles.”

The TQI is a measurement of the complete ownership experience where buyers are asked to rate their buying, owning, and driving experience. The index score is calculated using multivariate statistical techniques that factor in product, reliability, and dealership experience factors along with perceptual feedback from owners:

  • Satisfaction with the Complete Ownership Experience
  • Perception of Quality
  • Owner Reported Delight
  • Future Purchase Intent
  • Emotional Attachment to Vehicle

These factors are transformed into a 1000 point scale.  The LR4 scored 923 points, while the 2011 Land Rover Range Rover Sport came with 887 points in the luxury utility category (down a single point from 2010). At this time, no data was available for the LR2 or the Range Rover for the 2010 or 2011 model years. In comparison, for 2011 the BMW X6 topped the luxury utility category with 909 points the Toyota Sequoia took the large utility category with 916 points.
