All-New 2013 Range Rover Photos

After months of spy videos, photos, and renderings, Land Rover recently released official photos of the all-new 2013 Range Rover. As you can see from the photos, the new flagship model borrows heavily from the smaller Range Rover Evoque that was released in October of 2011 (in the U.S.). Some would argue it looks a shade similar to a few other non-Land Rover models, but that’s nothing new in the world of automotive design. While full specs and details will arrive in late September ahead of the Paris show, Land Rover has revealed a few key points.

2013 Range Rover Highlights

The 2013 Range Rover is equipped with a next generation terrain management system dubbed Terrain Response 2 Auto.

First of all, the 2013 model makes use of an all-aluminum monocoque body structure that is 39% lighter than the body found on the outgoing 2012 model. This aluminum body structure helps shave a whopping 926 pounds (420kg) off the Range Rover. In turn, buyers will enjoy improved performance, agility, fuel economy, and reduced emissions. On the performance front, the 2013 Range Rover also features a redesigned air suspension that offers flatter cornering and a “natural and intuitive steering feel.” The Range Rover will offer a V8 gasoline engine option along with TDV6 and SDV8 diesel engines.

The new Range Rover will be manufactured in Solihull and goes on sale in September of this year. Deliveries will begin in early 2013.

Terrain Response 2 Auto

How all this translates into off-road capability is probably damned near irrelevant as the Range Rover continues to move even further upmarket. However, the vehicle is equipped with a next generation terrain management system dubbed Terrain Response 2 Auto. The system analyses the current driving conditions and automatically selects the most suitable vehicle dynamics for those conditions.
