2012 Defender by Overfinch Rear Detail

We don’t talk too much about the Defender on RoverGuide, which is a little ironic considering the current Defender is easily the most historically authentic model in the company’s current lineup. We’ll certainly be picking up on the Defender coverage as we get closer to the 2015 model year, which is when a redesign Defender will begin to hit the showrooms. It should also be the year that sees the Defender return to the U.S. market after an 18 year absence. But for now, we will have to be content to live vicariously through those who live on the other side of the Atlantic.

2012 Overfinch Defender

All that said, dreaming about forbidden bespoke vehicles is about as vicarious as it gets. Today we’re taking a look at the 2012 Overfinch Defender, which has received enhancements both inside and out. Right off the top, we’ll once again say we’re not fans of non-OEM hood lettering, but the overall look of the Overfinch Defender comes together nicely. The exterior aesthetic updates are quite obvious, especially if you are already familiar with the stock Defender. LED daytime running lamps, color-coded bodywork, grill and lamp surround details, hood lettering, Overfinch decals, etc. are all part of the package. As is typical with bespoke vehicles, the customer gets the final say on the details.

The wheels are pictured with BF Goodrich All Terrain tires (265/65R18).

2012 Overfinch Defender Interior

One of the long-running complaints regarding the Defender has been the vehicle’s lack of interior refinement. While Land Rover itself has recently addressed the issue with Leather, Interior, and Comfort Packs, tuners such as Overfinch are capable of taking the Defender’s interior to the proverbial ‘next level.’ On the inside, the 2012 Overfinch Defender has received a great deal of detail work that includes embroidered emblems, contrast stitching, contract piping, a full leather interior treatment package that includes the seats, door panels, dash, headliner, rear body sides, transmission tunnel, storage box, and steering wheel.
