Land Rover February 2012 U.S. Sales

Jaguar Land Rover has reported U.S. sales for February 2012 and the growth trend continues for Land Rover, while Jaguar enjoys a resurgence based on updated 2012 models. Land Rover moved 3,255 units last month, which is up 27 percent from February of 2011 when 2,555 vehicles found new homes. In total, Jaguar Land Rover North America’s U.S. sales for the month of February were up 32 percent over last year with 4,277 vehicles sold, an increase from 3,247 in February of 2011.

The Range Rover Sport continues as the company’s sales volume leader, followed by the Range Rover Evoque. Land Rover retailers found 1,091 buyers for the Range Rover Sport in February, up 11 percent from February of last year when the Sport logged 984 sales. Coming in next was the Range Rover Evoque, which posted 715 sales for the month. Rounding out Land Rover’s U.S. lineup is the 2012 Land Rover LR2, the 2012 Land Rover LR4, and the 2012 Range Rover. Specific sales numbers for February were not provided for these vehicles.

“We are pleased the market is showing continued positive signs in 2012. With strong products backed with new marketing strategies we plan to build on the success of 2011 when we surpassed the 50,000 [50,375] unit sales mark in North America for the first time since 2007,” said Andy Goss, President, Jaguar Land Rover North America.

Jaguar Cars

For its part, Jaguar was up 48 percent over February of last year thanks to the revised 2012 Jaguar XF and XK models. Total sales for Jaguar in February totaled 1,022 units, up from 692 in February of 2011. Jaguar also recently launched a new brand and marketing strategy called “ALIVE,” which “…introduces the famed British brand to luxury consumers in a new modern context.” Jaguar sales throughout 2011 were hit and miss and ended down, so it will be interesting to watch the new strategy evolve over the course of 2012.
