2012 Range Rover Sport UK Specification

Land Rover UK has released a few more photos of the 2012 Range Rover Sport. This round of photos features a UK-specification Range Rover Sport HSE wearing Siberian Silver paint while taking things both on and off the road in Scotland. We have also added a few photos of the 2012 Range Rover slogging through the mud during the same event.

Range Rover Sport Sales

The Range Rover Sport is was Land Rover’s best-selling vehicle in the North American market. The winning combination of the LR4’s underpinnings with Range Rover styling and luxury has proved to be a successful combination. Even though we’re still waiting for official confirmation from Land Rover on the October sales numbers for North America, we don’t think we’re taking too much of a risk in stating that the 2012 Range Rover Evoque will easily displace the Range Rover Sport as the best-selling Land Rover through the rest of the year and likely beyond.

Range Rover Sport Carries Over for 2012

For the most part, the 2012 Range Rover Sport is a carryover from the 2011 model year (including all engine options).  The most significant changes happen inside the cabin. The hard disc drive (HDD) navigation system has been treated with updated graphics to improve usability and is now capable of receiving Traffic Message Channel (TMC) information. As expected, the navigation display screen is also capable of displaying 4×4 and off-road navigational information.

The second major change comes in the form of upgrade audio systems. A 380-watt harman/kardon® unit featuring 11 speakers has replaced the existing 240-watt audio system. If that isn’t enough for you, all models can be upgraded to an 825-watt harman/kardon® LOGIC7® 17-speaker system. Additionally, a new virtual CD changer allows the upload of 10 full-quality albums and the audio system is compatible with iPod®, iPad®, and USB devices.

Additional changes include updates to the rear seat entertainment system, an updated “Say What You See” voice activation system, an improved driver’s information display, a smaller Smart Key fob, improved steering column control stalks, and an optional headliner.

2013 Range Rover Sport: New Colors & Wheel Option

Unlike the upcoming 2013 Range Rover, the 2013 Range Rover Sport is a nearly direct carryover from the 2012 model and receives only a handful of cosmetic options to the exterior and interior. Five new body colors, a new alloy wheel design, two new interior color options, and a carbon veneer package make up the bulk of the changes.
