Dave Caouette Off Road Memorial Run

As we’re sure you recall, Seal Beach, California, suffered from the deadliest shooting in Orange County history on October 12th, 2011. Dave Caouette, 64, was killed while sitting in his 2003 Land Rover Discovery in a parking lot near the salon where the shootings took place. In total, eight people lost their lives that day and a ninth was wounded. There was no apparent motive behind the killing of Caouette. He was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Dave Caouette Off-Road Memorial Run

A very active enthusiast and off-roader, Caouette was well-known among Land Rover enthusiasts in Southern California.  To honor Caouette, over 40 Land Rovers gathered in Seal Beach on October 17th, but the Land Rover community hasn’t stopped there. On Saturday, December 3rd, there will be an off-road driving event held with 100% of the proceeds slated for donation to the Caouette family. The event will take place rain, snow, or shine and attendance is free, but Forest Adventure Passes are required. Forest Adventure Passes can be ordered online and are $5.00 for a day pass, $30,00 for an annual pass, and $5.00 for a second car annual pass. Organizers are also requiring attendees to sign up on the Wheels Events website.

The off-road memorial will take place in Big Bear, California.
