Jaguar Land Rover Ultimate Destination

Jaguar Land Rover’s ‘Ultimate Destination’ recruitment advertising campaign has been honored with two industry awards. Launched in March of this year, Jaguar Land Rover’s marketing team designed the recruitment campaign to bolster the company’s efforts to expand its workforce under a global growth plan. The two honors were awarded by the Recruitment Business Awards and focused on the campaign’s ambient and digital applications.

Ian Cook’s Unique Artwork

Much of the campaign centers around the art of Ian Cook. Cook created the unique artwork seen here by using the paint-covered wheels of Jaguar and Land Rover remote control cars to create an image of the world. You can see a video of the remote control cars at work on Jaguar Land Rover’s global careers site linked at the bottom of this post.

Having spent more than a few years working in the creative trenches of a full-service advertising and marketing agency, I have to say the campaign is quite interesting, engaging, and well done. Most importantly of all, the campaign was successful. Jaguar Land Rover reports that it has received thousands of online applications and has recruited 700 of them over the past six months.

More Hiring Planned

“Our aim has always been to attract the brightest and best talent to our business as we enter a critical phase in our expansion plans and we are well on our way to achieving our ambitious targets,” said Des Thurlby, Jaguar Land Rover HR Director.

Jaguar Land Rover plans to add 600 additional recruits to its workforce, with a focus on attracting high-caliber manufacturing, purchasing, finance, and engineering professionals. To help with the recruitment drive, the Jaguar Land Rover Careers website has launched ‘CARICATURE,’ a social media app that allows users to upload a photo of themselves — or any image — which will be painted digitally in the same style as the ad campaign. Users can grab a photo off Facebook or upload a photo directly. Once the application “paints” the photo, it can be shared via social media outlets or saved.
