A couple of weeks ago we posted a small gallery of images featuring the manufacturing facility at Halewood hard at work producing the 2012 Range Rover Evoque. Over the past couple of days, Land Rover has released a larger selection of images that reveal additional body-in-white photos, the paint shop, and trim & final assembly.
Jaguar Land Rover North America has released final 2011 sales figures for the U.S. market. In total, sales for 2011 came in at 50,375 units, which is an 11 percent increase over the 2010 calendar year when the company sold 45,204 vehicles. For its part, Land Rover was up 20 percent for 2011. Jaguar sales were down 8 percent year-over-year at 12,276.
The DC100 and DC100 Sport concepts have made their Indian debut at the Auto Expo 2012 in New Delhi. The vehicles remain essentially unchanged from what we saw at the LA Auto Show with the exception of a few cosmetic alterations. Both Defender Concepts shown in New Delhi are coated in Land Rover's bright Firenze Red.
Autoweek is the latest publication to recognize the 2012 Range Rover Evoque by naming it the "Best of the Best/Truck" for 2012. This puts the Evoque's award tally somewhere in the mid-50s. This is the second year for the award and represents "two vehicles that [Autoweek editors] feel are No. 1 from [their] shared point of view as automotive enthusiasts."
The latest edition of our 2012 color swatch series is the 2012 Land Rover LR4. The LR4 is available in a dozen different colors for the 2012 model year. Like other offerings from Land Rover, the color selection focuses primarily on earthy tones such as Nara Bronze, Aintree Green, and Baltic Blue. The brightest shade is Firenze Red, followed by the two silver hues.
