Will a Range Rover Evoque be on the field for the 2013 Dakar Rally? Well, sort of. The British Excite Rallye Raid Team will be running the 2013 Dakar in a vehicle that looks a lot like a highly-modified Range Rover Evoque. The actual car is called the D4_WN5 and is built by RaBe Race Cars. The D4_WN5 has been in development over the past four years and as far as we can tell shares little to nothing in common with the production version of the Range Rover Evoque other than a superficial resemblance.
The 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show is winding down but the automotive industry is still buzzing about the DC100 and DC100 Sport concept vehicles that made their debut on September 13th. Reinforcing just how significant the DC100 Sport is, Autoweek has named the DC100 Sport concept "Best in Show."
Most updates found on the 2012 Land Rover Range Rover Sport are centered on improvements to the audio and navigation systems. As was the case for 2011, the Range Rover Sport is available in HSE, HSE LUX, Supercharged, and Autobiography trims. Engine availability has also been carried over from 2011. Prices for the 2012 Range Rover Sport are up slightly over the 2011 model year.
The DC100 is one of a pair of concepts released yesterday at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show. The DC100 represents the typical three-door hard top SUV. The companion concept, the DC100 Sport, takes a more performance-oriented route by turning the DC100 into a roadster pickup. There has been no decision made on whether the 2015 Defender will be available in North America.
The DC100 Sport is one of a pair of concepts unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show this morning. The DC100 and DC100 Sport are ostensibly replacements for the Land Rover Defender, but Land Rover has stated the concepts are not production-ready vehicles. Rather, they are designed to spur discussion about what should and should not be included on the final production version.
