The 2012 Range Rover Evoque has been honored with the 2012 MacRobert Award and also took home a 2012 Auto Express Award. Not to be outdone, the Land Rover Discovery 4 (LR4) also was a top contender in this year's Auto Express Award series.
It has been a whole three weeks or so since the 2012 Range Rover Evoque won a notable award. Last month, the Evoque took the top spot in Diesel Car Magazine's Car of the Year series. Just a few days ago, the Evoque was named 'Best of the Best' in Robb Report's sport utility vehicle segment.
The latest award bestowed upon the Evoque comes in the form of Diesel Car Magazine's 2012 Car of the Year. The UK-based publication awarded the Evoque its top honor based on how "stunning to look at and [how] stunning to drive" the car is. The magazine went on to say the Evoque is "instantly a classic."
Once again, the rumors of a high performance variant of the Range Rover Evoque are making the rounds. Land Rover's Design Director Gerry McGovern was quoted by Auto Express saying an "overtly sporty [Evoque]" is possible. This isn't the first time rumors of a high performance Evoque made the rounds.
China is well on its way to becoming Land Rover's largest market, so it was with due respect that the company made a big showing at the 2012 Beijing International Automotive Exhibition. The exhibition is also known as the Beijing Motor Show and Auto China, but regardless of what you want to call it, the show's international influence is undeniable.
