Earlier this week Land Rover announced its LR4 (Discovery 4) HSE Luxury Limited Edition. Fortunately for Range Rover lovers, you are not being left out of the limited edition game. Land Rover has also announced two distinctive new Limited Edition trims for the 2013 Range Rover Sport: the GT and the Supercharged. Yes, a 2013 in April of 2012. The 2013 Range Rover Sport Limited Edition provides a few additional color options over its limited edition LR4 cousin, and as such is available in Firenze Red, Orkney Grey, Fuji White, and Santorini Black (the LR4 comes in Orkney Grey, Santorini Black, and the rich brown Havana).
Note: There are two Limited Edition Range Rover Sport models for 2013 in the U.S. market. There is the Range Rover Sport Supercharged Limited Edition with the 510-horsepower supercharged 5.0-liter V8 and the Range Rover Sport GT (HSE) Limited Edition with the standard 375-horsepower V8 engine. As always, Land Rover may change availability, colors, options, and prices without notice. Outside of the U.S., “HSE” may refer to the Supercharged HSE trim.
Update 5/18/2012: It appears that in the U.S., the limited editions will only be available in Santorini Black and Fuji White. For the Supercharged, 300 units will be Santorini Black and 200 in Fuji White. For the GT, 450 will be Santorini Black and 300 additional units will be Fuji White.
The 2013 Supercharged Limited Edition makes use of the 510-horsepower version of the LR-V8 engine. The GT gets the 375-horsepower variant.
On the exterior, the 2013 Range Rover Sport Limited Edition’s grill gets Santorini Black mesh, a Noble (satin chrome) bezel, and a black surround. The hood lettering is now finished in Atlas Silver (gloss silver) while the tailgate ‘SPORT’ badge is now finished in Salsa Red. The fender vents ties the front and rear treatments together by displaying a Salsa Red ‘RANGE ROVER’ logo against a Santorini Black grill, all of which are encompassed by an surround finished in Atlas Silver. Further setting the Range Rover Sport Limited Edition apart from its siblings are unique 20-inch alloy wheels.
“The Range Rover Sport Limited Edition adds an extra dimension to what is already one of the most dynamic vehicles in the premium SUV class. The striking exterior and subtle interior treatments, unique alloy wheels and beautiful upholstery detailing will appeal to customers for whom exclusivity is important,” said John Edwards, Land Rover Global Brand Director.
Inside, the 2013 Range Rover Sport Limited Edition offers Ebony seats with a choice of four contrasting insert colors: Pimento Red, Cirrus, Lunar Grey, and Ebony. The ‘SPORT’ logo is embossed on the headrests and complemented by a similar logo embroidered on the carpeted floor mats. Pictured below you can see samples of the Ebony/Cirrus interior along with the Ebony/Pimento Red combination.
The Range Rover Sport GT Limited Edition is based on the HSE and comes equipped with Land Rover’s 375-horsepower 5.0-liter LR-V8. If “more power” is your thing, the 2013 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Limited Edition makes good use of Land Rover’s 510-horsepower supercharged 5.0-liter LR-V8 engine backed by a six-speed automatic transmission. If you happen to live in a diesel-friendly part of the world, you have the option of Land Rover’s LR-TDV6 diesel engine combined with an eight-speed automatic transmission.
